Mimtec have long experience of forming parts using sheet that has been pre-printed with an image. Traditionally, screen printing is used but digital printing is now possible as inks with excellent formability have been developed (see our digital printing service for details).

The printed image distorts as the part is formed into a 3D shape and this distortion needs to be adjusted for in the flat image. This is done by forming a ‘grid’ sheet that allows the distortion to be measured and the artwork adjusted to compensate. Click here to see our digital workflow
